Op Bart Jans bijdrage wordt in het eerste deel van de bundel inhoudelijk gereflecteerd, aan de hand van vijf thema's die hem aan het hart gaan: digitalisering en A.I., de gereedschapskist van de bestuursrechter, maatwerk, communicatie en evenredigheid en vertrouwen. Dat zijn allemaal terreinen waarop Bart Jan het bestuursrecht als het ware (opnieuw) heeft 'gearrangeerd'. Die Beiträge untersuchen, wo und wie die Zeit im Recht eine Rolle spielt und ob es rechtliche Phänomene gibt, die sich erst durch ein angemessenes normatives Zeitverständnis erklären lassen. In jüngerer Zeit lässt sich ein erstarktes Interesse am Recht und der Kritik des Rechts innerhalb der Kritischen Theorie verzeichnen (insb. Christoph Menke und Daniel Loick).
